Great all purpose lens, might not be as sharp as some Nikon lenses, but this lens does it all, and is tough plenty. Remembering it is 18-200 VR AF Macro focusing for the right price. I found much improve to have the right lens on when a photograph opportunity occurs, than forced to switch lenses in a moving vehicle or boat!

I first reviewed this lens in May 2012, when I´d used this lens for about a year. I´ve recently delegated my beloved D7100 to backup travel body since going to full frame with a D850. I´ve been archiving and reviewing my shots recently, well-nigh taken with this lens. It only is a workhorse that hasn´t disappointed. The images are respectably sharp with skilful contrast. The baloney, if any, isn´t really noticeable. Any chromatic aberration is acceptable. The range of the lens is outrageous... I mean 18-200... come up on, that´due south fantastic! I´ve got a collection of truly neat Nikon glass, but this picayune animate being of a lens is certainly a dependable favourite. I´ve compared it to a friend´s xviii-300, and it appears a bit sharper. All in all, after viii years and thousands of images, the lens has proven to be a reliable, bang-up image quality, and fun lens to use. Five stars in 2012... five stars now...

I took my camera to a swim meet and a pre prom party and discovered just how great this lens performed on a D3200. Both pictures are edited to zoom in from 50 feet away.

I purchased this lens when I purchased my D5200, about 2013, I have been using it ever since, information technology is a great travel lens, one stop fits almost all, sharp lens with and versatile zoom ratios, on the dx cameras, the 200 works out to be about 300 so I have found that I seldom need much more long range ability, I as well purchased a 10-24 a wider range lens, and earlier that the 16-85, which is also a good versatile lens, I highly recommend the 18-200vr ll lens

I bought a refurbished 18-200 VR 2 on this Nikon website. It was fantabulous until the autofocus stopped working for no reason during my travel in Alaska. Because information technology was refurbished, the warranty was only for 3 months and it´south been vi months that I bought it. I really like Nikon unremarkably, simply I feel so much powerless on this effect. It´southward similar ´´we are selling you something bad without telling yous, this is why we give you only iii months warranty´´. I am and so disappointed by Nikon on this eighteen-200, it will cost me so much money to get it fixed merely because Nikon sold me a weak lens without telling me. And I need to cover a friend´southward hymeneals next week :(

This is my favorite lens, I am considering ownership the Nikon 24-120mm because of the nano crystal. I utilize this lens for well-nigh everything. I took it with me to Costa Rica, I got some amazing images.

Quality of photos taken with this lens are excellent. As well has powerful Zoom. This is an all purpose single lens that reduces the hassle of irresolute lenses according to the situation.

I bought a D3300 DSLR, and while I found the 18-55mm kit lens to be great in its own respect, I needed to get some glass which would exist a bit more versatile for what I typically shoot, which is our cute mountains of Northern California. The 18-200mm has a great range of zoom, and will be perfect for vacation shots, and flora/fauna images. I besides purchased a 35mm-f1.8 for indoor and low calorie-free applications. Between the three lens choices, I pretty much accept all my bases covered. Also, the D3300 takes some VERY sharp 24mp images, especially with the 35mm lens.

I found a easy solution that has worked for years. I took a two´´ rubberband strip found at a sewing counter and made a ring around the lens, just snug plenty to permit manual turning, but volition non let the lens pitter-patter.
Easily removed, but I go on information technology on all of the time. It is black so it is barely noticeable Good luck.
